Johanna Pohl

Biography (as at 2022)

Johanna Pohl is a researcher at TU Berlin, Department for Sustainable Digitalization. She studied environmental engineering in Dresden and Izmir (Turkey). Before joining TU Berlin, Johanna gained experience at the Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and at the German Biomass Research Centre (DBFZ). As a member of the Berlin-based transdisciplinary research group “Digitalization and Sustainability”, she investigates environmental effects of ICT-based services and develops basic approaches for a sustainable design of hardware and software.

In her dissertation, Johanna is focusing on new interdisciplinary approaches on how to better integrate use-related aspects into life cycle assessment. Her research interests include socio-ecological transformation, sustainable digitalization and environmental assessment methods.
