About
Digitalisation is one of the high-level trends that will significantly impact future energy demand and carbon emissions, whilst creating social challenges and opportunities. Drawing on work within CREDS and by leading European researchers, this podcast examines how pathways for digitalisation in energy and mobility could be directed towards reducing energy demand and enhancing social justice.
Our D4S experts Steffen Lange and Tilman Santarius introduce the report Digital Reset: Redirecting Technologies for the Deep Sustainability Transformation. Tim Foxon and Noam Bergman then discuss their CREDS research on the drivers and effects of digitalisation on energy demand in low carbon scenarios. Tim Schwanen and Debbie Hopkins finish by presenting their work the expectations of the benefits of automated vehicles.
Siddharth Sareen (University of Stavanger), himself a leading researcher in this area chairs the event.
